The terms and conditions governing your use of TownSponsor.
By accessing or using townsponsor.com ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform. These Terms apply to all visitors, sponsors, and organizations that access or use TownSponsor.
TownSponsor LLC ("TownSponsor," "we," "us," or "our") operates a community giving platform that connects local businesses with nonprofit organizations in their community. TownSponsor facilitates donations to verified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations through our platform.
TownSponsor is currently operating in beta. Features, fees, and functionality may change as the platform develops.
Anyone may browse the TownSponsor platform. To make a financial transaction through the platform, you must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
By making a donation through TownSponsor, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
As a sponsor using TownSponsor, you agree that:
When a sponsor makes a donation to an organization that has not yet claimed their listing or connected their bank account on TownSponsor, the following process applies:
For donations made to sub-programs or chapters operating under a parent 501(c)(3) organization:
For donations made to organizations not yet registered with TownSponsor or not operating under a known parent nonprofit:
TownSponsor makes no guarantee that an unclaimed organization will connect within the 90-day window. If you wish to ensure your donation reaches a cause immediately, we recommend donating only to organizations marked as fully verified and connected on the platform.
As a nonprofit organization listed on TownSponsor, you agree that:
TownSponsor verifies each organization's 501(c)(3) status prior to listing using a multi-source verification process that includes the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search (TEOS) database, ProPublica's Nonprofit Explorer, and TownSponsor's internal records. Verification is performed at the time of onboarding and reviewed on a monthly basis through an automated compliance sync.
Tax-exempt status may be automatically revoked by the IRS for failure to file required annual returns for three consecutive years. TownSponsor performs monthly compliance checks against IRS records and will deactivate any organization whose exempt status has been revoked. However, TownSponsor is not responsible for status lapses that occur between verification cycles. Donors are encouraged to independently verify an organization's current exempt status at apps.irs.gov/app/eos.
TownSponsor offers the option to set up recurring monthly donations to supported organizations. By enabling a monthly donation, you agree that:
TownSponsor may display sponsor names and giving tier status publicly on the platform, including on organization pages, sponsor recognition walls, and digital badges. By making a donation through TownSponsor, you consent to this recognition.
If you prefer to remain anonymous, please contact us at help@townsponsor.com before or after your donation and we will honor your request.
All payments on TownSponsor are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. TownSponsor does not collect, store, or have access to your financial information including credit card numbers or bank account details.
By making a payment through TownSponsor, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
During the current beta period, TownSponsor charges no platform fee to beta organizations. After beta, a 3% platform fee will apply. Fee changes will be disclosed at least 30 days in advance of implementation.
TownSponsor will make reasonable efforts to provide tax receipts for qualifying donations. Tax receipts are issued only after a donation has been successfully delivered to the recipient organization. Pending donations do not qualify for a tax receipt until the organization claims their listing and receives the funds.
TownSponsor facilitates receipt issuance but makes no representation regarding IRS deductibility of any specific donation. Deductibility depends on facts outside TownSponsor's control including the recipient organization's current exempt status and the absence of a disqualifying quid pro quo exchange.
Sponsor tier recognition benefits — including digital badges and physical stickers — are provided as tokens of appreciation. TownSponsor believes these benefits have a de minimis fair market value and do not reduce the deductible amount of your donation. However, donors should consult a qualified tax professional regarding their specific situation.
TownSponsor does not provide tax advice. Please consult a qualified tax professional regarding the deductibility of your donations.

User-initiated termination: Organizations may request removal from the platform by contacting help@townsponsor.com. Sponsors may discontinue use at any time. Termination does not affect any donations already processed or in transit.
Company-initiated termination: TownSponsor may suspend or remove any user or organization from the platform at any time for violation of these Terms, loss of 501(c)(3) status, fraudulent activity, or for any other reason at TownSponsor's sole discretion, with or without notice.
Funds in transit at termination: If an organization is removed from the platform while donations are pending or in transit, TownSponsor will make reasonable efforts to transfer any held funds to the organization or, if transfer is not possible, refund the donor. Recurring donations will be cancelled automatically upon removal of an organization from the platform.
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.
BINDING ARBITRATION: ANY DISPUTE, CLAIM, OR CONTROVERSY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE TOWNSPONSOR PLATFORM SHALL BE RESOLVED BY BINDING ARBITRATION ADMINISTERED BY THE AMERICAN ARBITRATION ASSOCIATION UNDER ITS CONSUMER ARBITRATION RULES, RATHER THAN IN COURT. THE FEDERAL ARBITRATION ACT GOVERNS THE INTERPRETATION AND ENFORCEMENT OF THIS PROVISION.
CLASS ACTION WAIVER: YOU AND TOWNSPONSOR AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. THE ARBITRATOR MAY NOT CONSOLIDATE MORE THAN ONE PERSON'S CLAIMS AND MAY NOT OTHERWISE PRESIDE OVER ANY FORM OF REPRESENTATIVE OR CLASS PROCEEDING.
To initiate arbitration, send written notice to TownSponsor LLC, Pflugerville, Texas, describing your claim. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days before arbitration is initiated. Small claims court actions remain available to either party for claims within that court's jurisdiction.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes not subject to arbitration shall be resolved in the courts of Travis County, Texas.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and provide at least 30 days notice before material changes take effect. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
